BIENVILLE DUPLEX
In this small duplex in Plateau Mont-Royal, the challenge was to maximize natural light by opening up the living space, but also by adding windows overlooking the interior courtyard. Although small, it is at the heart of the project and its layout has been carefully considered. The great presence of wood brings warmth and serenity, in an urban environment where concrete predominates. The abundant addition of plants makes this space lively and is felt inside the small apartment.
Inside, the living space has been completely open-planned, transforming what was once 4 small rooms into one large space. The addition of a French door to the courtyard puts the 2 spaces in direct contact and maximizes the amount of light inside. The exposed brick wall has been preserved and highlighted by the choice of kitchen materials.
